4 Top Benefits of Application Whitelisting

With over 350,000 new malicious programs (malware) and potentially unwanted applications (PUA) being discovered every day, protecting applications has become a significant challenge for enterprises and organizations. A web browser like Chrome and an administrative application like Powershell are legitimate applications. But a Powershell being spawned out of a web browser like Chrome could be indicative of malicious behavior. This can be done by plugging in the cryptographic hash value of the file that is deemed malicious and scanning the network to detect which hosts carry this hash value, thereby identifying all malicious files.
