More than 40,000 cybersecurity professionals will descend on San Francisco in February for RSA Conference 2020. The event, which is also referred to as RSAC, will run from Feb. 24 – Feb. 28 and will be held at the Moscone Center.  As one of the biggest cybersecurity conferences in the world, RSAC offers hundreds of sessions, speakers, and seminars. To help you prepare for the event, the ColorTokens team put together this list of tips for a successful conference experience.

Learn and Connect

RSA Conference sessions start as early as 8 a.m. and run as late as 6 p.m., so you’ll have plenty of time to take in a range of presentations and visit a variety of exhibitors. Here are a few sessions that caught our attention:  Penn & Teller (Feb. 28, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.): The world-famous magician duo is a featured act at this year’s RSAC. Although they won’t put on a traditional, Las Vegas-style show, Penn & Teller will share entertaining and valuable insights on human behavior.  Speed Networking (Multiple Days/Times): One of the biggest benefits of attending RSAC is connecting with fellow cybersecurity professionals. Take advantage of a networking session to chat with other attendees – you never know when that next career door will open.  Innovation Sandbox (Feb. 24, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.): Even if you’re not an investor, you might enjoy checking out the Innovation Sandbox, which is a Shark Tank-type forum for industry innovators to pitch their ideas and companies. You’ll get a firsthand look at some of the latest and greatest technology cybersecurity companies have to offer.

Go Beyond the Moscone Center

Discussion at RSA Conference won’t just happen in the Moscone Center. Attendees will also share their insights and discuss the news of the day online. Join the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag #RSAC2020, and make sure to follow all of the conference’s official social media pages (listed below).  RSA Conference Twitter  RSA Conference Facebook  RSA Conference LinkedIn  Additionally, the conference has a mobile app that  include itineraries, maps, and other important event information. It also allows you to schedule your sessions directly in the app once you’ve downloaded it.  Finally, many companies prefer to show their technology in off-site venues, so don’t shy away from leaving the Moscone Center to take a meeting or enjoy a happy hour.

Explore San Francisco

There’s always plenty to do in San Francisco, and RSA Conference week is no exception. Consider visiting the Chase Center, home to the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, for a game on Feb. 25 (Sacramento Kings) or Feb. 27 (Los Angeles Lakers). Or, grab drinks/dinner at one of the area’s many highly rated restaurants and bars  Need a break from the conference grind? Consider taking an afternoon to cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Napa (world-class wineries), Muir Woods (stunning old-growth redwoods), and Sausalito (spectacular ocean views) are among the many destinations within an easy drive of San Francisco.

Meet with a Cybersecurity Expert

One of the best parts of attending RSA Conference is being surrounded by the world’s foremost cybersecurity experts. In addition to networking with security professionals from other companies, this year’s RSAC will give you an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about building a Zero Trust environment – a topic that is “expected to dominate discussions at RSA and throughout 2020.  Visit our website to set up a meeting at RSAC with one of our experts in the ColorTokens Zero Trust Zone; we’d also be happy to provide a personalized assessment of your company’s security infrastructure. As an added bonus, you’ll get a free copy of the Definitive Guide to ZeroTrust Security.
